Hara Bhara Kebab

This crispy and soft spicy delicious snack is deep fried and made with spinach and potatoes.

Main Ingredient(s): Spinach(palak)


  • 6 Cup Spinach(palak) (chopped)
  • 1.5 Cup Potato(aloo) (Peeled)
  • 2 Teaspoon Semirefined sesame oil
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Cumin (Jeera or Jira)
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger (chopped)
  • 3.4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Tablespoon Corn Starch
  • 0.25 Cup Cilantro (hara dhania) (chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoon Green Chili (chopped)

Original recipe makes 12 Servings


Method of Preparation

Step 1

In a saucepan heat the oil on medium-high heat. When oil is moderately hot add cumin seeds.

Step 2

After the cumin seeds crack, add the spinach.

Step 3

Cook the spinach until most of the water evaporates yet it should be moist not completely dry.

Step 4

After the spinach resort to room temperature, add it to the potatoes with all other ingredients, ginger, cilantro, green chillies, salt, and corn starch and mix well.

Step 5

Divide the mix to 20 equal parts and roll them into oval shapes.

Step 6

Heat up oil in a non-stick pan, keeping the flame simmered.

Step 7

Fry kebabs until golden-brown all around.

Step 8

Serve hot with sweet and sour tamarind chutney.
